Our story
We are Sergio and Michela, two people deeply connected to the Sibillini Mountains, a land that for us is much more than a place to live: it is a source of inspiration, balance and emotion.
Sergio grew up in Montefortino, where over the years he has developed a genuine connection with the village and its mountains. Michela, born in nearby Amandola, found in these surroundings her ideal place, shaped by silence, nature and paths waiting to be explored.
From this connection, Borgofortino was born: a shared dream of creating a place where guests can be welcomed and rediscover the pleasure of simple things, through contact with nature, local traditions and the slow rhythm of mountain life.

The rebirth of an ancient tower house
Our B&B was created through the restoration of an ancient tower house, a traditional feature of the villages of the Sibillini Mountains, built in stone and brick and once at the heart of rural life.
The restoration was carried out with care and respect for the building’s identity, preserving and enhancing the materials, forms and details of the past. We chose to work with local craftsmen, skilled artisans who continue to preserve the traditional techniques and knowledge of this area.
Every stone, door and restored detail tells a story of passion and memory. A place where the past is not simply preserved, but continues to live on today.

A place to experience at a slower pace
Borgofortino was born from an intense journey, shaped in part by the challenges brought by the 2016 earthquake. The strength to carry on came from our love for these mountains and our desire to contribute to their revival.
Today, we welcome our guests to a place where they can slow down, breathe in the surrounding nature and discover the beauty of the Sibillini Mountains.
A retreat where you can embrace the slower pace of life, surrounded by traditions, wellbeing and authenticity. Because every stone in this house tells a story — one that continues with you.
